Alisa Burke

It seems only appropriate that the first artist to highlight on my new art website would be Alisa Burke.  In her website she proclaims that she is an artist, author, teacher, wife and mom.  It has been over 3 years since I have followed her blog and I would agree with that
statement as she has shown all of those sides of her life in her daily posts.  And now I will add to that list mentor as Alisa has been a huge inspiration to me.  She has demonstrated over the years that she is able to take a passion and move it to a successful business that largely supports her and her family.  And as one of those people who have followed her journey we all know that it was not an easy task.  This woman has shown as much tenacity as anyone I know and I see this without even knowing her personally.

Alisa is clearly an amazing artist - so cleaver and talented!  But there are many artists I have seen or met over the years that share equal artist talent.  What separates Alisa from the rest of the pack is her business savvy - she is so clever and talented in this area as well!  She keeps those of us who follow her blog captivated with posts that include art projects, recipes, walks on the beach, studio tours, features of other artists, sharing of her family - especially daughter Lucy, house updates, and beautiful photography.  I wake up every morning, Monday through Friday, and know that I will have something interesting in my inbox from Alisa.  And this is only one aspect of what this talented artist gives us.  Alisa also teaches online classes and sells amazing art.

I encourage you to check her website out and join her immense following.  And I am confident that you will be hooked too.

A Website In The Making

This new website is a milestone for me.  This is one of those times when I surprise myself with what can be accomplished when I combine years of experience in the tech world, keen desire and lots of help from the Internet. The result is a vehicle that will be used to market Hollyhock Studio workshops and also to share my passion for the art world.

There are so many people who have reached out to support me as I am embarking into this world.  My husband and friends with an eye for detail, family with superior tech knowledge and artists who have inspired me in all directions.  Many thanks to everyone for motivating and supporting me to create this website. It is with this support that I am confident that this new project will be successful.
